Looking for a Few Guest Designers

I am looking for a few guest designers for Digital Two for Tuesday.  This time the call has a little different twist for the holidays.  I would like the designers to create a project/present for the holidays such as an ornament, collage,album or other 3D project.  The theme is listed next to the date.  I will give you two new images plus you can use any of the images previously posted. 

This is call is open to everyone.  If you are interested please send me a link to your website so I can see your work and pick two dates in case one is already taken.  My email is coraharkins@sbcglobal.net.

Digital Two for Tueday 71

The images from this week are from the book Yourself and Your House Wonderful from 1913 by H.A. Guerber.

This week I have the pleasure to share with you the amazing of another international paper artist Pia. I love the bright colors she used to color in these images and all the beautiful vintage touches she has added to her work.  Her is her bio in her own words.  " My name is Pia Lehtinen and I am 53 years old. I live in beautiful Lapland in northern Sweden. I have been making cards since 2006 and I really love it. I have had a lot of hobbies before, like sewing my own clothes and making jewelry, but I don't have any time for it now, since I just make cards nowadays. I just can't help it. Description of my cards: I printed the images with my laser printer and coloured them with distresser inks and Tombow brush pens.

On the card with the girl and the baby I used paper from Webster's Pages (love them all) and decorated with a satin bow, a moon charm and some pearly swirls.

On the second card I used some flowery paper which I got from a friend, I then decorated with some mulberry roses which I have made myself, and a beautiful handmade lace and some velvet ribbon. I also put some pearls in the corners. The ticket says in translation: My best friend."

This week we have two more images from the book Yourself and Your House Wonderful.  This book is loaded with fun images.  I hope you are enjoying them as much as I. 

 Our Guest hostess this week is the talented Julia.  She has made two beautiful and vibrant cards that really make you feel a part of the images. 
Here is her bio in her own words.
"When I was a little girl a liked crafting and drawing/coloring a lot. I think most children like it. Then I grow up…and there was a big gap in my crafting… until September 2009 when I decided to learn how to work with Adobe Photoshop. I discovered for myself the world of digital scrap and loved to play with all kinds of brushes and textures. I also came across blogs of people which did “real scrapbooking”, and I admired it but I thought that it’s not for me… J But the little girl that still lived inside of my soul and loved crafting woke up and said that should try it! I tried… and felt in love with it! Probably it was time for me to get back to what I really am, to myself real…

So I am quite new to this world. I like scrapbooking, cardmaking, ATC, mixed media and altered art and I also like to try something new. As for styles, now I feel that I prefer vintage and shabby chic. I’ m glad that my hobby let me meet a lot of interesting and talented people.

These are the cards I’ve made with Cora’s pictures. I colored them with watercolor pencils. It is an amazing feeling to work with pictures that were drawn over hundred years ago. It is like you continue work of the artist who lived so long ago…"

For “PLAY” card I used scrapbook paper (Prima), ribbon, hand-made flower , “play” ticket (Tim Holtz), Antique Linen Distress.

 For “FRIENDS” card I printed out the background and wording. I colored the flower with yellow and orange markers – it was white before and added a vintage button.

For those of you who are into the baseball playoffs this week I have posted today two baseball images from the turn of the 19th century.  They are from two different books Yourself and the House Wonderful and The Children's Game Book.  There is no guess hostess this week as I was on vacation .  Have fun and be sure to post your card or project in the comments section so we all can enjoy it.

Well I found this great book called Yourself and Your Wonderful House from 1913.  It is one of those fun books thats talks about raising children.  In Tuesday I posted the first two images.  Here are two more from chapter 1 Yourself, Your Own Little House. 

Digital Two For Tuesday 67

This week's images are from a really interesting book from 1913 called Yourself and Your House Wonderful.  The book is for parents and teachers to raise healthy children.  This week our hostess is the very talented paper artist,Claudine.  She has created two beautiful cards using this weeks images. I love how with two similar images she has created two cards for very different occasions.

Simple card

For my first card, I made a clean and simple card. I thought this house image would be perfect for "we've moved" cards. I simply printed the image, cut it out with an oval Nestabilities die, then mounted it on a black oval shape. For the base of the card, I ran it through a embossing folder from Stampin Up. I completed the card by adding a computer-generated sentiment and a few black rhinestones. These "we've moved" cards would be fast and easy to "mass-produce."

Holiday Card

For this card I wanted to create a holiday/winter scene. I printed the house, colored it with Copic markers, then used Tim Holtz distress inks to distress the edges. To create the winter feel, I added Flower Soft snow to the roof, bushes, and trees. The papers used are Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, and Deck the Halls DSP by Stampin Up. I cut out the green panel with a Nestabilites die then ran it through a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. I completed the card by adding a ribbon, snowflake charm, sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers.
