Digital Two for Tuesday 118

I hope you are enjoying the iron work as much as me.  I made the fan last week and I have been experimenting on a few collage cards.

Iron Work Patterns

I hope you are enjoying these intricate iron work patterns from 1895.  They are inspiring.  I can see them used as backgrounds or even the main focus of a card. They could be used with one of the vintage images at my other site Clearly Vintage.  The half circle one could be used as a fan.  I have so many ideas and I know you do too.   I would love to see a project or card you have made with one of them.  Email me a photo of your project by Sunday 1/23/2012 at 6pm EST and I will post it here.  Be sure to include your name and the country you are from for me to include in the post.

Here is my project.

Beautiful Iron Work

Here are a few iron work designs.  These images are originally from a 1895 The Delineator magazine.  These will make great backgrounds for cards.

Digital Two for Tuesday 115

Everyone seems to like the images edited by Pixelmator.  They are extremely clear but I am scanning at a very high dpi.  Next I will have to experiment with lowering the dpi to see how low I can go with out losing too much clarity.  The following images are from a December 1911 McCall's Magazine.  This was truly an elegant time.  When I was a teenager a version of this look came back again for a short time.  There was lots of lace, big collars and beautiful sleeves. I just loved Gunne Sax clothing by Jessica McClintock.

Two from McCalls

I finally had a chance to download a new program today for repairing my images.  I will be trying a few programs the next few weeks.  Hopefully I will find one that works for all of my blogs.  The one I used today is called Pixelmator. Please let me know if you like the clarity on these pictures.

Today I have two adorable images from the December 1911 McCalls magazine.  You can see more of the images from this magazine at my other blog Clearly Vintage.
