Recipe Challenge Day 4

It is Day 4 and only one more day left of our challenge.  I hope you are enjoying the vintage images.  Most of them are from the The Larkin Housewives Cook Book from 1914.  All the hostesses have been working for over a month to bring you their projects.  Please take the time to look, enjoy and comment on their work.  They all have done an amazing job. Our guest designer today  is Jane.  She has made another beautiful project using the vintage freebie images.  It is so much fun to see how different people are using these images.  I just love Jane's attention to detail. You can see more of her exciting designs on her blog.  Here is a little info about Jane:

"My name is Jane and I have been married to a wonderful man for 30 years. We have three grown daughters and 5 grandsons. I just recently retired and we are in the process of relocating to my husband's hometown.
I have been crafting for most of my life. I have been doing paper crafting for 10 years now. I love the vintage look and also country farm vintage. I had so much fun doing this recipe book. The digi images were so wonderful to work with. I love the digi idea because if you make a mistake you can just print another. Also the storage is great! I love working with all the papers, buttons, ribbons, and anything you use to make beautiful creations.  I am lucky to have been chosen for two permanent positions on two design teams and I am honored to have been chosen by Cora to do this recipe challenge. I hope you love her digi's as much as I do..."

Recipe Challenge Day 3

Today's guest hostess is Christine from Boise, Idaho.  Christine's excitement over the project can be seen in every page.  She has taken the images added color and vintage papers by The Paper Studio and the buttons are from her vintage stash and the ribbon is rayon seambinding that she dyed herself with watercolor paints. Recipe Challenge Day 2

Here we are in day two of our recipe challenge.  I hope you are enjoying the images as well as the projects.  Today's guest designer is Traci.  She has in the tradition of Digital Two for Tuesday created digital pages using the images.  I love the contrast between each designer's style.  Traci's work is full of color and excitement.  You can find a link to download the pages and more photos on her blog.  Here is her bio in her own words.

"I am a long time crafter and have tried just about anything you can imagine. I am a digital designer for the scrapbook industry, currently selling my kits in two different stores. I am the family memory keeper, so I am also deeply involved in genealogy, which dovetails nicely with scrapbooking. I make my own cards, which I think you can say about most scrappers......I also love quilling, teabag folding and iris folding. I have an obscene number of stamps and inks, which I do my best to use as often as I can, especially on my cards.

This project for the cookbook was a great deal of fun to do. The papers and elements I used in combination with your charming images were designed completely by me using Photoshop. As such, this is completely digital, which I know is something of a departure for your blog. Thank you for taking a chance by inviting me to display my work here."

Recipe Challenge Day 1

Next week will be our one year anniversary.  So in honor of that occasion I will be posting from Monday to Friday vintage cookbook images which our guest designers have used to make wonderful recipe books or cards. Each day we will showcase a different international designer and more images.  Be sure to check back everyday and collect all the images.   I hope you will be inspired to make a recipe book for a teacher or a bride and share it with us. 

Our first hostess in Lenet.  Lenet has made for us a beautiful vintage recipe box.  I love how she makes the images blend with the page.  Here is here bio in her own words.
"My Name is Lenet Mos. I live with my husband, two kids, and two ginger tom cats in the Netherlands. I’m a stay at home mom and have always been creative at some way. I discovered scrapbooking about 4 years ago. I started making cards in July 2009. At the moment I’m totally into card making. I think you can say I’m a bit addicted to it. Every spare moment I have, I spend on being creative, I love being creative there is so much more I want to do,but there are not enough hours in a day.

I used a bare elements treasure chest from Creative Imaginations.  I decorated it with paper from K&Company,some lace and I distressed it with tea dye distressing ink from Ranger.  The recipe label at the box is a stamp from Waltzing Mouse.

Digital Two for Tuesday 50

The images this week are from a children's book of poetry from the early 1900's.  I hope you enjoy.

This week's guest artist is Terri Snode.  Terri has been a hostess before and has created another amazing set of projects.  I love her use of color and the layout of her cards.  Please welcome Terri back.

Here are Terri's two projects.

Girl in Garden

I used a white cardstock base and papers by DCWV. I edge the pink gingham paper with a gold metallic pen and the image was colored with Tombow Markers. The epoxy sticker is from K & Co, the flowers are prima and the pink gingham ribbon was added to tie in all the colors.

Boy with Birds

The image was colored with prismacolor pencils and thinner. Striped background paper is by DCWV and the diamond papers in the corners is from Paper Pizzaz.The image and mat were cut out using Nestabilities Label die. I ran the mat through the Cuttlebug using a vine design to add dimension and the "family" sticker is K & Company. Pop dots were used to add dimension.

Here is Terri's bio in here own words.  I began stamping in 2004. Although I love to use rubber and clear stamps, I find myself using more digis now. When I teach classes, I use rubber and clear stamps because of the flexibility in different techniques. However, when I need a quick card or working on challenges, I go to my digis. I began teaching a card technique class at our local library last summer and the ladies enjoyed it so much, we decided to continue through this year. Thanks to a dear friend, Darlene, I started doing challenges and have finally started thinking "out of the box."   You can see more of Terri's beautiful artwork on her blog.
