Celebration Day 6

Today we have our final talented guest designer Margreet for the Digital Two for Tuesday 200th post celebration.  Margreet's is a wonderful artist.  I love her sense of style and all the little touches she has added to her cards.

Here is Margreet's bio in her own words.

"I am Margreet, a Dutch girl of 62 years old. I have been married for 42 years and we have one daughter, who will gonna get married in April of this year. I still work parttime as a secretary. I spend most of my free time in my craft room, making cards and sometimes projects. I love to make all kind of cards: CAS, fun or vintage cards. I think it is an honour to be guestdesignethe beautiful at Digital Two for Tuesday.

I have used an image from the Sunday book from 1892. It fits perfectly with the new Joy!crafts Music Notes papers and Dance to the Music Cutting & Embossing die. I distressed all edges with the Tim Holtz distresser. Some gauze and a flower as finishing touch.

For my second card I have used the beautiful Verbena and colored it with pan pastels. You can find more details on my blog."

Celebration Day 5

Today's extraordinary designer is Linda Bickley.  Linda has chosen three very different types of images for her cards, highlighting the diversity of images posted at Digital Two for Tuesday.  I just love her ribbon accents, choices of papers and her expertise with Copics.  

Here is Linda's bio and project descriptions in her own words.  

"I'm a SAHW, married to my best friend Tim. We have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. We live in Arizona. I have done crafting most of my life, but found card making about 10 years ago and it is my favorite craft.  I really love to color digital images with Coptic Markers, it's like being a kid again.

 I know Christmas is over but I couldn't resist using this Santa image i found on in holiday trio 7, dated Dec. 7,2010 I love the old fashion look to him. I colored him with Copic Markers. I used Stampin Up products for this card. Basic Black cardstock, the stripped paper is the Season of Style designer paper. The sentiment is from the Santa's List stamp set. I also used Cherry Cobbler 

Dazzling Details for the berries. I don't remember where I got the ribbon, have had it a long time.

I really like the expression on the little girl. She looks like she has a secret to tell. She is from Cute Kids Dec27 ,2013.

I colored her with Copic Markers. The card stock and sentiment are from Stampin Up (Early Espresso CS, Four You stamp set) the designer paper was from a pack I picked up a few years ago, don't remember the designer. The same with the ribbon.

I love the look on this lady's face. Makes you wondering what she is thinking. I left the inside of this card blank and will add a sentiment when I decide who I want to send it to. You could use this one for many different sentiments, Thinking of You, Miss You, Wish You Were Here, to name a few.

The card stock is Stampin Up. The paper and ribbon have been in my stash for many years and don't remember where it came from."

Celebration Day 4

We are at Day 4 and each day our guest designers have amazed me.  Today's skillful designer Lynette Neus does not disappoint.  Lynette has taken one image from the blog and made two completely different cards.  It is exciting to see how this sweet image can be used in different ways in the hands of a brilliant artist.  You can see more of her work on her blog My Stamping Addiction.

I hope you are inspired to make something with an image from my blog and share it with us as part of this celebration.

Here is Lynette's bio and descriptions of her cards in her own words.

“I have been married to my wonderful husband, Jim, for almost forty years. We have a son and a daughter, both of whom are married. We also have five grandchildren – four boys and a princess. Two of them were born this past year. We are so lucky! I have always been a crafter. I’ve about done it all except knitting. I have been card-making for about eleven years and still love it. Besides the fun of making the cards, there is also the fun of accumulating supplies and meeting such wonderful fellow crafters!”

Both of my cards use a flower image from June 10. I colored them both with Copics. The first one is a stair-step card. I embossed the background piece on the card front with a Sizzix folder. The sentiment is from The Paper Company Studio. The numbers were cut with Cuttlebug dies.

The image on the second card was cut with a Spellbinders Labels 27 die. I slightly sponged with some light blue ink before removing the die. The background paper is from Recollections. The sentiment is the same as the first card. I scored a few lines on it with my Martha Stewart scoring board.

Celebration Day 3

We are at Day 3 of my 200th Digital Two for Tuesday post.  I hope you are enjoying all the guest designer's projects and are feeling as inspired as I am.  One of my favorite things about having a blog is that people from around the world visit on participate.  Today's talented guest designer is Carla Aerts from Belgium.  Carla has created 5 cards for us to enjoy.  Again, when I received these cards I thought these could not be images I posted.  Carla has added so much charm and creativity to each image.  I know you all will be as inspired as I.   Remember to share your project in the comments section below if you join the celebration.  Follow the labels below to find the images Carla used in her lovely cards.

Hi everyone,

I am Carla. I am 52 years old. I live in the small country of Belgium in Europe. Together with my husband I work on our dairy farm of about 100 cows. Oh yes, for hobbies there is still time. Every day I sit in my craft room to make cards, especially cards with stamps. I prefer to color the stamps with Derwent coloursoft pencils. Celebration Day 2

It is day 2 of my 200th Digital Two for Tuesday post and I am showcasing another talented designer.  Edwina has been a fan of my site for many years and she often shares her work with me.  I was so excited when she agreed to be a guest designer for the celebration so you could all see how she takes these vintage images and makes the most beautiful cards.  You can see more of her work on her blog at http://edwinascreations.blogspot.com/.

Here is a bio and description of Edwina's cards in her own words.  

"I love crafting. I have been doing some kind since I was a child. My favorite gift was when I was 8 or 9 years old. It was a craft set with about 7 items to make. Mom got it with Top Value Stamps. I started scrapbooking pages in 2003. Then I got into cards I finally tried digis, Fall 2011. I was hocked. I love vintage and cute images. When I learned to use Copics I applied my painting skills to it. I found it was like painting in a lot of ways. I do watercolors and oil paintings. I have a love of nature and antique buildings. It shows up in a lot of what I do. I love children too. I like using children images on cards, especially if they are vintage or have an animal with them. Butterflies and flowers show up a lot in my art.

I was born in Kentucky. I now live in New Jersey. I have 3 brothers, 3 nieces, 2 nephews. I love all of them and they get my homemade cards a lot. I have a cat named Mittens. 

Card using the sewing digis:

On this card I used 3 different digis. You can find them here. The thimbles are 1/2' high and placed right next to each other to form a border. I fussy cut out the sewing basket and overlapped it on the edge of the lady sewing. I colored the digis using Copics.  The background paper is embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots. The papers are by Bazzill- blues, Georgia pacific- white.  The card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Card using the Tuberose digi:

I used the Tuberrose digi on this card. I colored it with Copics then outlined it with a fine point glue pen and added iridescent glitter to flowers. I did not add glitter to the stem. I then fussy cut out the digi and glued it to a die cut I had threaded ribbon through the design. Then pop dotted the design to the card base.  The ribbon is by the Morex Corp. The pin with the bow I made using Bead Landings beads and pins.  The die cut is made using Spellbinders Lacy Ovals die.  The card is 5" x 6 1/2".

Card using Ice skating digi:

I printed this digi at 5" I then colored it with Copics. Then using a fine tip glue pen I outlined the ice and shadows on the ice. Then sprinkled extra fine iridescent glitter onto it. Once dry I used a die and cut the 2 ends.  The die is a Spellbinders die called Labels Eight.  The snowflake border was done using a Martha Steward border punch.  The Silver snowflakes are by Recollections- large snowflake, Jolee's boutique- small snowflakes. The gems on the border are by Studio g.  The card is 5" x 6 1/2"."

Celebration Day 1

I am so excited to bring to you all this week six talented artists work to celebrate my 200th Digital Two for Tuesday posting.  I hope you will join our artists and create a project using an image from the site.  Please share you project in the comments section.  So we can all enjoy it.  Today my guest artist is the wonderfully creative Leslie Miller.  Her work is so amazing that I often don't recognize the image.  Often she takes an image like the one below (that I almost did not post because it is not a true line image) and creates a totally beautiful work of art.  Thank you Leslie for sharing your work with us.

Here is Leslie's bio and description of her project in her own words.

"I'm a happy stamper living on the southern Oregon coast with my husband, Rich, and two Golden Retrievers, Wally and LuLu.  Enduring passions (other than family, furry and human) are gardening, reading and papercrafting, and I indulge as much as possible when not at my day job in a medical laboratory.  I love all styles of stamping, but most of all coloring, and that's why I so enjoy the images Cora shares on Digital Two for Tuesday.  My stamping blog is Running With Scissors... and I share my other life on Goldens and Garden.

 I was hardly prepared for how difficult it would be to decide which image to select from among all the gorgeous, sweet, whimsical, masculine, feminine, you name it choices over here. I settled on this big, bold petunia, loving as I do the sketchy-style illustration which produces a no-line image when colored.  The image is from an 1894 Burpee catalog. Flowers are timeless and they’re among my favorite finds at Digital Two for Tuesday. This particular image is here. Placed front and center on my 5 1/4” square card, I popped up every other layer and colored the edges of the die cut frames with a Copic V0000 marker.  This will be a Mother's Day card for a friend, complete with box in which to present it.  All the coloring was done with Copic markers and the image was printed on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.  Thank you!"

A Vintage Father's Day Card

Father's Day is fast approaching and I know all of you are looking for some great ideas for men's cards.  If you are like me, you find it easier to make cards for woman.  Sherry Hickey from A Bit of Cheer has shared a great masculine card.  I just love all the different buttons and the pieced collage background on this card. The image is one I posted awhile back of a vintage ad.

Holiday Trio 8

 This week I have three more cute images from advertising graphics magazines from the 1920's.  I just love the style of the people in these images. 

Our guest designer this week is the talented Pauline.  She has created a beautiful box using the Santa image from last week.  All of the the guest designers were charged with making a project from any of the images I will be posting in the next few weeks and Pauline done an amazing box using this wonderful holiday image.

Here is Pauline's bio in here own words.  "I live in the south east of Australia, in the town where I was born and raised. I am a cardmaker, scrapbooker, stitcher, and beader. I enjoy tackling all sort of challenges and styles in my papercrafts... but my current favourites would be using digital images (colouring with chalks, markers, watercolours, pencils) and using vintage photographs (with beads, buttons, lace, ribbon etc). I also create cards using stitching and embroidery, and beading, and often employ those into my other creations. I tend to favour uncomplicated styles/layouts. I also make jewellery, and favour vintage styles - my pieces are individually crafted, and no two are the same.  Although I am lucky enough to be able to sell some of my cards and jewellery at a local market, and by special order, I love to share my creations as gifts to friends and family.

I would love to thank Cora for the opportunity to create for her blog. It is a joy and a pleasure to do so! The creation I share here with you is something that I would not normally do - I don't often create 3D projects, so it was a joy to create and share something different with you .... "

Holiday Trio Week in Review

Today our guest hostess has made three projects from several of the images previously posted this week.  So I thought we would do a week in review.  Hopefully her amazing projects will inspire you to make a handmade gift for that special person or decorations for your home.  Be sure to post it here in the comments section so we can all see what you create.

Our talented guest hostess today is Willemien Katerberg.  Willemien lives near the shores of lake Huron in Ontario with her husband. Her spare time is spent creatively in paper, hybrid and digital crafts. She started scrapbooking in 2004 and it didn't take long for her to pick up other paper crafts and their digital counterparts. Here is a description of the projects in the artists words.
"I had so much fun working with these images. I created three projects; an altered decorative tile, an altered candle, and a gift box. This Santa image is absolutely amazing. I had fully intended to do a laser copy transfer onto the tile, but of course I procrastinated and I couldn't justify driving through a snowstorm for just one little photocopy, so I printed and adhered tissue paper to the tile which I then coloured. For the candle and the gift box I used the images that were posted in Holiday Trio 6. I printed the Christmas cat image in dark green to match with the card stock use don the box (it's not that noticeable in these pictures) I also used Bookend 2 to wrap around the back of the candle. Over the next few days I will be posting complete details of my projects on my blog for those who would like more information. "

I am looking for a few guest designers for Digital Two for Tuesday.  This time the call has a little different twist for the holidays.  I would like the designers to create a project/present for the holidays such as an ornament, collage,album or other 3D project.  The theme is listed next to the date.  I will give you two new images plus you can use any of the images previously posted.

Digital Two For Tuesday 67

This week's images are from a really interesting book from 1913 called Yourself and Your House Wonderful.  The book is for parents and teachers to raise healthy children.  This week our hostess is the very talented paper artist,Claudine.  She has created two beautiful cards using this weeks images. I love how with two similar images she has created two cards for very different occasions.

Simple card

For my first card, I made a clean and simple card. I thought this house image would be perfect for "we've moved" cards. I simply printed the image, cut it out with an oval Nestabilities die, then mounted it on a black oval shape. For the base of the card, I ran it through a embossing folder from Stampin Up. I completed the card by adding a computer-generated sentiment and a few black rhinestones. These "we've moved" cards would be fast and easy to "mass-produce."

Holiday Card

For this card I wanted to create a holiday/winter scene. I printed the house, colored it with Copic markers, then used Tim Holtz distress inks to distress the edges. To create the winter feel, I added Flower Soft snow to the roof, bushes, and trees. The papers used are Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, and Deck the Halls DSP by Stampin Up. I cut out the green panel with a Nestabilites die then ran it through a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. I completed the card by adding a ribbon, snowflake charm, sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers.

Looking for Guest Designers

Well it is that time again to search high and low for guest designers for Digital Two for Tuesday. 
1. If you do not mind creating projects that are out of your comfort zone than please send me an email that you would like to be a guest designer.  Approximately a week before you will be the host or hostess I will send to you two vintage B&W images to use as stamps in one or more projects.  It is your choice what you make and you may add other images or stamps.  The idea is to inspire other to take the challenge.  The week of your guest hosting please post your project on your blog and on any sites you participate to encourage others to play.

All are welcome to apply.

2. I am also looking for a small group designers to all work with some images to create a blank recipe book or card box. It will be a super challenge and may take a few weeks to complete.  I was hoping to have this challenge ready before Mother's Day but I have been crazy busy at work.  This will be due June 6 for posting on June 8.  I have about a dozen black & white images from a recipe book from 1915 that I thought might be fun to use to make a blank book to give some one to put recipes inside. The images are small 1.5" x 3" approximately. I was thinking you could use the different images for the different sections like meat, fish, poultry, breads, and so on. I am looking for several designers to each make a different project that we would post on the Digital Two for Tuesday blog using the images. The project could be any type of recipe holder such as recipe card box or a book. When we post the projects each designer can post a family recipe on their blog to get everyone started.

Please let me know whether your are interested in the guest hosting spot or the receipe project.
